A Timeless Dynasty. Modern Beauty

Our Founding Story

The Beauty of Mai was founded by Khoa Nguyen as a tribute to his late grandmother, Mai Nguyen. Living to the age of 95, she survived colonialism, famine, and war, yet always carried herself with an imperial grace & elegance. That same resilience and elegance were the inspiration for our hero ingredients, camellia and silk, luxuries once reserved for the highest of royalty across timeless dynasties.

Our Haircare

Our hero ingredients are camellia oil and silk. These ingredients were popular among women of the court and aristocracy for radiant shine, long lasting silky smoothness, and refined strength. With over 100 species of camellia in the wild, we selected Camellia Japonica, cultivated and sourced from Japan's Kyushu Islands. Revered for its exceptional purity and performance, Camellia Japonica is among the most prized and rarest camellia varieties, and we are proud to feature it as a cornerstone of our formulations.

Our Mission

To celebrate Mai’s timeless spirit through elevated, heritage driven haircare
